When I first swatched The Face Shop Over Girl Edge Stick Eyes PP01 at the store, I though it would be a dupe for Chanel Utopia Illusion D’Ombre. At almost 1/10 of the price of Chanel, that would have been really awesome. But after swatching them together side by side, I found that they’re still very different from one another. But however different they are, I love both of them.
The Face Shop Over Girl is pretty new to me. I have only noticed it last week when I went to the TFS store near my place. It was the very colorful display that got me. So what was supposed to be just a repurchase of a nail polish remover became a haul. See the entire ShopaHAULic Saturdays haul here. I left the shop extremely happy with my haul. 🙂

EDGE STICK EYES PP01
TFS Over Girl Edge Stick Eyes PP01 is a warm-toned, medium plummy lavender eyeshadow. It has lots of silver micro shimmers giving it a sort of pearlescent look. It can be used as an eye shadow, eye liner or even under the eyes. In the swatches below, you can see how shimmery it is. It was also very easy to blend it out.
Edge Stick Eyes PP01 has a diagonal shaped cut, making it very easy to apply on curvy eye areas. It has a smooth and creamy texture and it glides easily without tugging on the eyes. The micro shimmers are not too chunky like glitters, so application is not messy and there are minimal, if any, fallouts. It doesn’t crease on my oily lids even without a primer. It is also a bit long-lasting, but lasts longer when used over a primer.
It’s recommended to apply the eyeshadow gently on eyes and use fingers or brush to blend. For under eyes, use eye line diagonal edge for delicate expression.
The Face Shop Edge Stick Eyes PP01 has a shimmery finish, so you might want to be careful when applying it. I do have sensitive eyes, but this one don’t irritate my eyes. So, I’m really happy with it.
In the photo above, I used PP01 as a light wash of color for the entire eye lid area. The silver micro shimmers overpowers the plum in the eyeshadow, making it seem more cool on me rather than warm-toned. I didn’t bother using a primer because I was only going out for a bit when I took these photos. It lasted around 4 hours on me. On days when I use it over a primer, it lasts around 6 to 7 hours. It is also very easy to remove using an eye makeup remover.
Color and Texture Comparison Swatches from L to R:
The Face Shop Edge Stick Eyes PP01 and Chanel Utopia Illusion D’Ombre.
The Edge Stick Eyes come in a retractable tube, similar to the Chanel Stylo Eyeshadow. To get more product out, all you have to do is twist either half of the tube. I love that the shade is also shown at the tip of the cap, so when you have a few of these babies, it would be easy to tell which is which, without opening every single tube.
I bought my Edge Stick Eyes PP01 from The Face Shop in Robinsons Manila for Php350. It is almost the same price as the Etude House Play 101 Pencils. Do I love it, or should I trash it? I think I’m not gonna trash this one, because I love it! Must get the other shades as well. 😀
