It’s my last ShopaHAULic Saturday makeup haul before Easter this year. So it’s just fitting that my makeup haul this week is from two of my favorite brands, Chanel and Etude House. What’s the connection? Nothing, really! I just want to justify my purchases, lol!
Anyways, I finally gave in and bought some items from the Chanel La Perle de Chanel Collection. Much as I was tempted to buy the Harmonie de Levres lip palette, I was able to resist it with flying colors! 😉
I did swatch the 3 lip colors from the palette and really liked them. But didn’t bother swatching the 2 lip glosses in the palette. I knew I wouldn’t be able to use them anyways, so why bother? Right?
I was extremely disappointed, though, that both Mysterio Illusion D’Ombre cream eyeshadow and Perle de Lune Stylo Yeux eyeliner were not included in the items that arrived at my local Chanel counter. I guess it was because they launched it together with some Le Blanc items. So the La Perle de Chanel which is already a mini collection, became even more of a miniscule collection. 😀
MAKEUP HAUL: LA PERLE DE CHANEL COLLECTION AND ETUDE HOUSE
LA PERLE DE CHANEL COLLECTION
CHANEL JOUES CONTRASTE
Chanel Crescendo blush is the first item in the collection that I’ve added to my wishlist when I first read about it.
I thought it was as light as Chanel Sakura Joues Contraste blush which is one of my favorites. But when I swatched it at the counter, I found that it’s not really light. In fact, it kind of reminds me of Chanel Ultra Rose blush. I’ve sold my Ultra Rose 2 years ago so I can’t do comparison swatches with it now. But Crescendo seems to be a lighter version of it.
Anyways, I bought it for Php2,350 from the Chanel counter in Rustans Makati. I have tried it a few times already, and I can say that I like it better than Ultra Rose. This one is for keeps! 😀
LE BLUSH CREME DE CHANEL
I didn’t know that La Perle de Chanel Collection included a cream blush. So I’m not really sure if Invitation Le Blush Creme de Chanel is a part of the Le Blanc collection instead. Anyways, I believe that this is just a repromote because I know that it was first released last year but I just hadn’t been able to buy it that time.
So, now that it was repromoted again, I didn’t hesitate and bought it without having second thoughts. At Php2,150 for a 2.5g (0.09oz) worth of blush, it costs a bit cheaper than the Joues Contraste blush. But, it also has less product compared to Joues Contraste blushes which has 4g (0.14oz) net weight. Cream blushes are much easier to use, though, as long as you know how to blend it right. 😉
CHANEL ROUGE ALLURE
LUMINOUS INTENSE LIP COLOUR
I hadn’t expected on getting Chanel Virevoltante Rouge Allure lipstick because online pictures of it including the one on my Sneak Peek post, didn’t appeal to me. But when I swatched it at the counter, I realized that it was really a good shade.
I have been using it for the past days, and was extremely glad that I did buy it. It costs Php1,650 and I also bought it from Chanel in Rustans Makati.
CHANEL ILLUSION D’OMBRE
LONG WEAR LUMINOUS EYESHADOW
97 New Moon
Because I hadn’t been able to buy both Mysterio Illusion D’Ombre and Perle de Lune Stylo Yeux eyeliner (which were both on my wish list), I settled with Chanel New Moon Illusion D’Ombre instead. It’s not part of the La Perle de Chanel collection nor the Le Blanc collection, but my local counter still had it in stock. I didn’t buy it when it first came out last year, but to quiet my subconscious from lemming for Mysterio, I now bought New Moon.
I don’t know why I waited this long before finally buying this shade. I used it last night and it was so pretty! And long lasting, too! But more on that on the full review. It’s expensive at Php1,950 for a 4g (0.14oz) worth of cream eyeshadow, but I think that it’s definitely worth it!
DEAR MY WISH LIPS TALK
Finally! I’ve been able to buy Etude House Dear My Wish Lips Talk in RD301. I have forever been lemming for this shade, but it was always out of stock at the Etude House store near my place. So I was glad that I visited their store in Makati, because they had it in stock.
It costs Php578 which is a bit expensive for a Korean makeup product. But because I love the formula of these Dear My Wish Lips Talk lipsticks, I believe that it’s really worth the price.
DRAWING SHOW BRUSH LINER
My cousin-in-law visited us earlier this week and she told me that she lost the eyeliner I gave her recently. So she went to buy one from Etude House and she was also extremely happy with it. I asked her what it was but she can’t remember the name of the product. All she told me was that it was a brush type eyeliner.
So, when I went to Etude House in Makati earlier this week, I looked for a brush type eyeliner and bought the Etude House Drawing Show Brush Liner in BK801. I’ve been using it for the past few days, and I can say that I’m also very happy with it. In fact, I like it better than my K-Palette Tattoo eyeliners! It also costs less, at just Php548. I just hope it won’t dry out too soon on me.
SWEET NAIL SHINE STONE
Queen of Tears
This is my first time to buy nail items from Etude House. I was actually looking at their display of the gel nail polishes, but the sales lady told me that it has to be dried using the special UV nail drier which I don’t have at home. So that got me disappointed. I don’t want to have to go to nail salons just to have my nails painted with these gel polishes.
So I got this nail art embellishment, Sweet Nail Shine Stone in Queen of Tears instead. I am so excited to use it and will probably post it on my blog so you can see how it looks once applied on the nails. It costs Php278 and I bought it from Etude House in Glorietta 4.
As always, I will try my best to review all of these products in the coming weeks. For the Chanel items, I’ll probably review them this week. So watch out for them.
