I had been wanting to try out MUFE’s (Make Up For Ever) HD foundation, along with a lot of their products, for a long time now but never got the chance to drop by their store in High Street, Bonifacio Global City where their store was previously located. When I chanced upon their new store located in Greenbelt 3, I almost jumped up and down with joy. I was like a kid who just found out that there’s a Chocolate candy factory in their neighborhood.
As soon as I stepped inside, one of the MUAs in the store immediately approached me and asked if I needed any help. I told her that I want to look around first before trying anything. I wanted to try the foundation last, so I first checked the blushes. I wasn’t really planning on buying yet another blush because I’ve got plenty in my stash already. But since I’m already at the store, I wanted to swatch them and see if anything would look good on me. I had only just swatched Sculpting Blush in shade 10 when the MUA again appeared by my side. I am annoyed when they do this! Then when you really need their help, they’re either assisting other customers or just chatting with one another, purposefully ignoring you.
Anyways, she insisted on trying the Sculpting Blush on my cheeks because she said that it might show differently than the swatch on my arm. I know that I shouldn’t have agreed to her because I might get pimples for letting her use their blush brush on my face, but she insisted and I just couldn’t say no to her.I have a problem with saying no because I don’t like disappointing people, and most of the time, it causes me more problems! (I was glad that I didn’t get pimples that time. I cleansed my face as soon as I got home.) 🙂
Ignoring my wincing eyes, she took out her brush, started swirling it in the pan of Sculpting Blush in shade 10, tapped it, and applied it ever so lightly on my cheeks. Even before she blended it out, I instantly noticed how it brightened my face in a natural way. Using a not-so-sure-if-it’s-clean brush on me, forgiven! It was like an instant glow that came from within. I loved it, right there and then! Wish list forgotten, I paid for it and left the store. Ever since that day, MUFE Sculpting Blush in shade 10 had been one of my favorite everyday blushes.
Make Up For Ever describes it:
Sculpting Blush sculpts and gives a multi-dimensional look to the face. Its unique formula, enriched in luminous coated pigments enhanced cheekbones, and guarantees an impeccable hold. Thanks to silicone oil and nylon powders, the smooth and silky texture can be shaded off, fading to infinity on the cheeks.
On the pan, MUFE Sculpting Blush in shade 10 looks like a dull, earthy peach-coral. If the MUA hadn’t tried it on my face, I never would’ve bought it. Shade 10 is a satin, peach pink that really brightens up the face. If you’ve read my other blush posts, then you know that I love bright blushes. Shade 10 also has a warm undertone which would make it look great on any skintone, especially on darker skintones as it is a very pigmented. For light to medium skintones, a light hand is needed so as not to overdo it.
MUFE Sculpting Blush in Shade 10 is long-lasting. It does take about 6-8 hours before it fades, and I have oily skin. It has a satin-matte finish, so it will not accentuate large pores or skin oiliness.
MAC Sheertone Blush in Peaches is more coral than MUFE Sculpting Blush in shade 10, and shade 10 is more more pigmented. Majolica Majorca Puff de Cheek in OR302 is even more orange but it doesn’t last as long as Shade 10 does.
MUFE Sculpting Blush in shade 10 leans more peach than pink as compared to both Chanel Joues Contraste in 87 Sakura and Burberry Light Glow Peony Blush No. 04.
I paid Php1,770 for 5.5g (0.17 oz) worth of blush. As with MAC blushes, it would’ve been better if they included a small mirror in the compact. But then again, it might cost more if they put in a mirror! MUFE Sculpting Blush in shade 10 is also available at Sephora for $25.
