MAC No Faux Pas Matte Lipstick had been released as part of the MAC Heirloom Mix Holiday 2014 Collection. MAC No Faux Pas Matte Lipstick is the first one from the Heirloom Mix Collection that really caught my eye.
What MAC says about their lipsticks:
Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made M•A•C famous.
MAC HEIRLOOM MIX COLLECTION
Strike an heir of sophistication this holiday season with royally rich colour that exudes an aristocratic allure. The modern woman mixes up an irreverent take on tradition with this collection of hues that casts the classic cameo in a contemporary, glittering light. A regal, romantic and daring affair, this holiday is all about colour that leaves a legacy.
MAC No Faux Pas Matte Lipstick is classified as a hot pink with a matte finish. In the bullet, it looks like a medium fuschia that is almost magenta. When swatched on my arm, it is noticeable how cool-toned No Faux Pas is.
MAC No Faux Pas Matte Lipstick is quite pigmented and is already opaque with just 1 swipe, although I still apply 3 layers.
The texture is a bit creamy making it fairly easy to apply. MAC No Faux Pas lipstick glides easily on the lips and does not tug at all. It has an almost satin-matte finish, but after about an hour, the tiny bit of satin sheen is gone and it becomes more matte.
• Apply lip primer like MAC Prep+Prime Lip and wait for it to become tacky, about a minute.
• Apply 1 layer then blot with a tissue, and apply some loose powder like Chanel Natural Finish Loose Powder sparingly across the lips using a small brush like MAC 217.
• Apply a second layer and blot again.
• Apply a third layer only on the center parts of the lips so it will appear fuller. Blot ever so lightly.
I love the color of MAC No Faux Pas Matte Lipstick on my lips which is an almost bright, cool-toned mix of pink and magenta. Even though it’s a matte lipstick, it doesn’t dry out my lips and is super long-lasting. No Faux Pas lasts around 7-8 hours on my lips and after eating and drinking, it leaves a very nice stain that is still not drying. I super love it! 🙂

I don’t have anything in my makeup collection that is similar to MAC No Faux Pas lipstick. I think that it may be similar to NARS Schiap, but I couldn’t swatch it anymore because sadly, I’ve already given it away to my cousin-in-law. I’m still happy, though, because she really loves it. If it had stayed with me, I would only use it for swatches. So, I’m glad that my Schiap is happy with its new master and vice-versa. 😀
MAC No Faux Pas Matte Lipstick, being part of the MAC Heirloom Mix Holiday Collection, is Php100 more expensive than regular MAC lipsticks, and I bought it for PhP1,100 from MAC in Mall of Asia. It is also available for $17.50 from both Nordstrom and Macy’s.
Are you daring enough to don a hot pink lipstick like MAC No Faux Pas? Have you seen the MAC Heirloom Mix Collection? Will you be getting No Faux Pas Matte Lipstick too? Do you have any dupes for it?
