MAC Flamingo was originally part of the Iris Apfel Collection which was released almost 3 years ago. Unfortunately, I hadn’t been able to buy it during that time because it was already sold out by the time I went to the MAC store in Glorietta. It’s a good thing that it was repromoted by MAC as part of their permanent line earlier this year. Hoorah!
In the tube, Flamingo looks like a bright, pinky-coral. But on the lips, it is a light, milky pink, much like Chanel Rouge Coco Magnolia but lighter. I like that it doesn’t wash me out even though I’m still tanned from hitting the beach too much last summer.
It feels creamy and is very easy to apply, but since it has a Lustre finish, it accentuates the dryness of my lips (you will notice this in my lip swatches because I didn’t exfoliate my lips before applying the lipstick). Note to self: Always scrub the lips first and apply lip balm before putting on lipstick. (As if I didn’t know this already! But I still forget sometimes, okay I admit, lots of times! LOL!)
There is a bit of shine but no shimmers, which is a good thing for me. I had to build it up, though, in order to get an opaque color, and after eating and drinking, I had to reapply it because it easily fades and doesn’t leave any stain at all. It’s Lustre… what did I expect. 🙂
Mac Gotta Dash is sheerer and is more coral than Mac Flamingo.
I bought it from MAC in Glorietta, Makati for Php1,000. It is also available at MAC Cosmetics for $16.
On the lips, it is a very gorgeous baby pink. I really, truly love it! <3 As always, if you have any questions or experiences with this product, or any feedback, whether good or bad, please don’t hesitate to share your thoughts by leaving a comment below.
