After my hits and misses with the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet range, I was so thankful that they have the Rouge Coco Shines. When it comes to moisturizing and hydrating, I know that I can always depend on this range. I had a number of Rouge Coco Shines in my stash like Flirt and Aventure, but they were of the previous formula which were really sheer in color, but still moisturizing for my lips. So when they released the new, reformulated Rouge Coco Shines which had about 30% more color payoff, I was ecstatic! 😉
The latest addition to my Coco Shine collection is Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in 91 Boheme. When I swatched it on the counter, I thought it was going to be a replacement for my RCS Pygmalion, which sadly is a Limited edition. You know how store lightings can be deceiving. When I got home after buying it, I immediately swatched it beside Pygmalion and found that they are very different. Pygmalion is raspberry pink and is gorgeous in her own way, but Boheme is very pretty as well.
What Chanel says:
The next chapter in the brilliant ROUGE COCO SHINE story: ROUGE COCO SHINE Hydrating Colour Lipshine, an innovative formula with intensified pigments to take colour and sheen to a new level of vibrancy. Sheer, shiny, colour-rich shades are effortlessly chic, infinitely wearable. Hydratendre Complex softens and plumps lips for a healthier, fuller appearance.
Boheme is a very fresh, pinkish strawberry red and it has a high shine that makes me look really radiant and young. Compared to the first Rouge Coco Shines, this is more hydrating. The application is a breeze because it doesn’t tug on my lips at all, and even though this is a Red shade, I can apply it without looking in the mirror!
The downside is that, it only lasts around 2 – 3 hours on me and I have to reapply again. As it was so easy to apply it, it is also very easy to remove it – even if you don’t want to, yet. It’s a good thing that it’s not a Limited edition, so I can reapply as often as I want because I can always buy a new tube of Boheme.
Lip Swatches:
I bought it for Php1,650 from the Chanel counter in Rustans Makati. As Boheme is part of the Permanent line, it is still available for $35 from Neiman Marcus. For Rustans, you might want to call them first, because they quickly run out of stock especially with these beautiful shades.
As always, if you have any questions or experiences with this product, or any feedback, whether good or bad, please don’t hesitate to share your thoughts by leaving a comment below.
