Chanel Rouge Allure in 158 Virevoltante is the only lipstick released in the La Perle de Chanel Collection. There is a lip palette, Harmonie Levres Lip Palette, which is the star item of the collection. The 3 lip colors and 2 lip glosses in the palette were very pretty. I didn’t bother getting it, though, because I still prefer lipsticks in bullet form.
I thought I would be buying Virevoltante just because it’s a Limited Edition, and the only lipstick in the collection. But when I saw it at the counter and swatched it on my arm, I fell in love with it already.
COLLECTION LA PERLE DE CHANEL
Inspired by the graceful world of ballet, this delicate makeup collection features rosy tones and glimmering metallics in beautiful balance. Taking center stage: a limited-edition five-shade palette featuring romantic lipsticks and glosses to choreograph a colourful lip look.
Chanel describes Rouge Allure:
The next generation of ROUGE ALLURE dresses lips with unmistakable attitude. A new formula with concentrated, ultra-thin pigments offers radically intense, long-wearing colour with full coverage and a satin finish. Leaves lips supple and protected with lasting comfort.
CHANEL ROUGE ALLURE 158 VIREVOLTANTE
Intense Long-Wear Lip Colour
As I’ve mentioned in my sneak peek post regarding the La Perle de Chanel Collection, Chanel Virevoltante Rouge Allure seems to be a shimmery, medium rose pink.
However, it is not so. In the tube, it looks like a medium rose. It even looks a bit plummy in some lightings. But it is not shimmery at all, as I previously thought it would be. Virevoltante is warm-toned and looks brownish in the bullet. It has a subtle scent that is not too over-powering and is barely noticeable once applied on the lips.
The texture of Chanel Rouge Allure in Virevoltante is very smooth and creamy. It has a shiny and luminous finish that is very pretty on the lips.
I love how easy it is to apply this lip color. It glides smoothly across the lips with no tugging or dragging at all. It doesn’t accentuate chapped lips, but just to be on the safe side and also to have a better finish, it would be advisable to exfoliate the lips beforehand. Virevoltante doesn’t settle into lip lines and does not feather or bleed.
In the arm swatch above, you can see that Chanel Virevoltante lipstick is more like a watermelon pink than a pinkish rose. But there is a bit of red and brown in it that makes it look rosy in some lightings. It is a bit on the sheer side, though. With 1 light swipe of the lip color, it is semi sheer. However, the color is still very much buildable.
Even though I have pigmented lips, I don’t have to use a lip concealer before applying Virevoltante. Nor do I have to use a lip balm or primer. However, if you’ve got very pigmented lips, you might still want to use a lip eraser. Those with extremely dry lips might also want to use a lip balm beforehand.
After cleansing the face and before applying any makeup, apply a good lip balm all over your lips. Apply makeup as usual, saving the lip makeup for last. Before applying any makeup on the lips, blot it with a clean tissue to remove the excess shine. Then apply the lipstick as you normally would.
Chanel Virevoltante feels really lightweight and it feels like it melts into my lips. Despite its warm undertone, it doesn’t make my teeth appear yellowish. While it doesn’t feel as moisturizing as the newly reformulated Rouge Coco lipsticks, it’s not drying on my lips at all.
Virevoltante looks really good on me! Gosh, I didn’t really expect that I’ll be liking it this much. It looks very natural on my lips. Like an MLBB (my-lips-but-better), but even better. Should I call it a BTMLBB, then? Better-than-MLBB. Hmmmm, that sounded ok in my mind, but is redundant once written. Lol!
Anyways, it lasts around 4 to 5 hours on my lips. After eating and drinking, it has to be reapplied because the color is almost completely gone.
Color and Texture Comparisons from L-R:

C – MAC Mehr lipstick
D – MAC Unlimited Pro Longwear Lipcreme
The closest shade I have to Virevoltante is MAC Lustering. However, Lustering has a sheerer coverage and it’s also more pink. But they both have very beautiful sheen and luminosity.
I love using Virevoltante lipstick for everyday makeup looks. It is really fitting, especially for a no-makeup makeup look.
I’m so happy with this purchase and I’m really glad that it became available at my local counter. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to buy it.
I bought Chanel Rouge Allure in Virevoltante from Chanel in Rustans Makati for Php1,650. If you want to buy this shade, you might want to visit your local Chanel counter soon as this is a Limited Edition. If you can’t get your hands on it, you can try MAC Lustering instead. 😉
What items did you get from the La Perle de Chanel Collection? Did you also get Chanel Rouge Allure Virevoltante lipstick or did you get the lip palette?

This looks pretty! Something that I can wear daily too. I usually wear MLBB shades because I can’t wear colors that would scare kids away. From the tube it did look a little dark. I was quite surprised that it was sheer when applied.
