Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour 599 Provocation had been first released last year in the Chanel Premiere Avant Collection. It was a pretty good collection because there were a lot of gorgeous Rogue Coco Shines, and it was also the time they released Rogue Coco in Le Baiser which is one of my favorite Rouge Coco that is surprisingly not drying on my lips. Out of the 4 nail polishes in the collection, I bought Cinema, Provocation and Starlet. I wouldn’t have bought Provocation had the SA not recommended it to me. Good thing I listened to her because I really love the color and finish of Provocation. Thanks girl! π
Chanel describes it:
Classic and trend-defining shades in an exclusive formula that strengthens and moisturizes nails as it delivers high-shine colour. Applies evenly without streaking.
All Chanel nail products are formaldehyde-free, toluene-free and DBP-free.
Provocation looks really plain in the bottle, it’s just a plum nail polish with no shimmers whatsoever. But on my nails, it is so beautiful! Provocation is not a simple boring plum, but rather it’s a gorgeous wine color. It’s like I dipped my fingers in red wine and it stained my nails.
One of the things I like about Provocation is its ease of application. Although it’s a little bit on the thick side, it still applies really well with no streaking. I experienced a few bubbles, but that is probably my fault. π Provocation also dries fast enough and has a beautiful shiny finish.
Two coats are all I need to achieve an opaque and even color, but I used 3 coats in the picture in this post. Since Provocation already has a very nice shine, I donβt have to apply a top coat anymore. What I used before applying Provocation is the Chanel Beaute des Ongles Protective Base Coat to protect my nails. Provocation lasts about 3-4 days on me before it chips around the edges.
I had bought Chanel Le Vernis in Provocation for Php1, 250 at Chanel in Rustans Makati and it is worth every penny. Also, it’s Permanent, so it’s still available at Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom for $27.
Do you like plum or wine-colored nail polishes? If so, what is your favorite? Have you tried Chanel Provocation Le Vernis yourself? Do you think Provocation is worth repurchasing, or purchasing at all?

Wow. A bit expensive, but worth it. I like the color, too.
Hi Mona! It really is worth it that’s why I love Chanel nail polishes including this one. π
