Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour 505 Particuliere is a classic. It had been first released in the Les Impressions de Chanel Collection way back in 2010. Out of the 3 nail polishes in the collection, I bought Particuliere and Tendresse. I had based my decision solely on their color in the bottle.
As soon as I got home and checked my new haul, I tested both and found that Tendresse was so sheer and streaky. Particuliere, on the other hand, did not even get tested because its color at home was so different than how it looked in the store. It was mauve under the store lighting, but at home it looked so plain and uninviting, like an already-cold, cup of cappucino that nobody wants to touch!
I tried to give it away but nobody wanted Particuliere! Well, it’s their loss. 😉 Since I was already stuck with it, I figured I will not lose anything by trying it on my nails. Oh, was I surprised! Particuliere was boring to look at in the bottle, but on the nails, it was classy, sophisticated and elegant.
Chanel describes it:
Classic and trend-defining shades in an exclusive formula that strengthens and moisturizes nails as it delivers high-shine colour. Applies evenly without streaking.
All Chanel nail products are formaldehyde-free, toluene-free and DBP-free.
In the bottle and in some lightings, Chanel Le Vernis in Particuliere is a boring, medium brown with a gray tinge. On my nails, though, it is a shiny, cool taupe with just a hint of mauve. It has a cream finish and its consistency is not too thick nor too thin. It applies really well without streaking, no bubbles, and it dries fairly fast. 😉
Two coats are all I need to achieve this opaque and even color. I love that I don’t have to apply a top coat because it already has a very nice, shiny finish. However, I still used Chanel Beaute des Ongles Protective Base Coat to protect my nails. Particuliere lasts about 3-4 days on me before it chips around the edges.
In the photo above, I used Chanel Le Vernis 599 Provocation as an accent (middle finger), and it looks really great together with Particuliere.
I bought Chanel Le Vernis in Particuliere for Php1, 250 at Chanel in Rustans Makati and it is worth every penny. Also, it’s Permanent, so it’s still available at Chanel.com and Nordstrom for $27.
Have you tried Chanel Particuliere Le Vernis yourself? Was it a yay or nay for you? Do you think it’s worth repurchasing, or purchasing at all?
