I wasn’t a blush person until around 2 years ago. It was when browsing old photos that I noticed I looked a little ghostly in my pictures. The next day, I went to the nearest makeup store, Rustans Essences, and bought my first ever blush, Nars Orgasm. It gave me a nice glow, but I got pimples from using it, as well. So after that, I searched for the right blush for me that will also get a thumbs-up from my sensitive and acne-prone skin.
Chanel Joues Contraste Blush was the answer to my prayers. Although I also buy blushes from other makeup brands (except Nars), most of my blushes are from Chanel.
Chanel had released Joues Contraste blush in 170 Rose Glacier (full review here) recently, and I really loved it at first sight. I only swatched it on my arm, but I know that it will be very pretty on my cheeks.
On the pan, it looks really bright and pigmented, like Chanel JC Blush Ultra Rose. When applied, though, it is a very lovely pink with gold specks. The only reason why I hadn’t bought it yet is because I’m scared that it will make my already oily skin appear more oily. I guess I’ll have to return to the counter one of these days to try it on my cheeks. I just hope that they don’t run out of stock before I go back. I believe the price is still Php2,350 at Rustans, but blushes last a long time (I had never hit pan on any of my other blushes), so it’s worth the price.
