One of the things I don’t like about Mondays is that it’s still 4 days away until the weekend. I only go out on weekends, which is the only time I put on eye makeup. As the song goes, “Who goes out on Mondays?”

I’m itching to try out my new Chanel Illusion D’Ombre eyeshadow in 96 Utopia, which had been in stores for a while now, but I’ve only purchased today. I had been ogling and drooling over swatches of this online for weeks already but hadn’t found the time to visit my local Chanel counter. It’s a good thing that they still have it in stock because I’ve read that it’s a limited edition item.

Now that I’ve finally gotten my hands on Utopia, I can say that it’s worth the hefty price of PhP 1,950. The packaging, small glass pot with black Chanel logo lid, is really glamorous and it comes with this cute little brush.

I have two other Illusion D’Ombre eyeshadows, and out of the three, Utopia is my favorite. The texture is really creamy and it’s so easy to apply, you can even use your fingers (just make sure that your fingers are clean).

Utopia looks medium purple in the pot, but once applied and blended out, it turns silvery pink that I’m pretty sure will brighten out my eyes. It has just the right amount of shimmer that will make your eyes sparkle without making your date or friends go blind just by looking at you.

I have used Utopia, and paired it with Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner in 908 Iris (reviewed here)and it was really pretty and not too purple-y. Click here if you want to see the swatches of them together.
