Chanel Holiday 2017 Makeup Collection

Red, gold, and green are usually the colors associated with the holidays. This is exactly what Chanel Holiday 2017 Makeup Collection is all about. It is not mostly gold, and thankfully not all green (or it’ll end up being too early for Saint Patrick’s Day), but focuses more on red.

Red takes the spotlight this year for this collection. Allow me to tease you a bit with the newly launched Collection Libre Numeros Rouges.

Every season, we are excited to get our hands on newly released makeup collections. But the one which excites us the most is the festive Holiday collection.

All of us have our inner critic when it comes to makeup, but I guarantee that there’ll be nothing to criticize this time. Keep on reading and be the first to experience this great unveil.

The face of this holiday’s Collection Libre Numeros Rouges is Lily-Rose Depp, who is the newest face of Chanel. If you are not familiar with Lily-Rose, she is the daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis.

Some of you might remember Vanessa, who has been a Chanel spokesmodel since 1991, best when she became the face of Chanel Rouge Coco lipstick during its release in 2010.

Moving on to the items included in this new collection, let’s first look at the highlight of Libre Numeros Rouges.

Chanel Rouge Allure No1 No4

These lipsticks are the highlight of the Chanel Libre Numeros Rouges Collection. All four shades are Limited Edition and are showcased in a rare red-lacquered click case. The packaging alone is enough to make us buy these special edition lipsticks.

We all know that the formula and finish of Rouge Allure and Rouge Allure Velvet lipsticks are heavenly. But these four intensely pigmented, long-wearing lipsticks are even made more special by Lucia Pica, Chanel’s Global Creative Makeup and Colour Designer.

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet No2 No3

As you can see in the lip swatches above, these lipstick shades were designed to work with all types of skin tones. So whether you are fair, medium, or dark, have yellow, pink, neutral, or olive undertones, there’s bound to be at least one of these lip colors that will look great on you.

These lipsticks were named as such to make Chanel makeup addicts even more excited. However, they forgot to include a Chanel N°5 Rouge Allure lipstick! Let’s hope that they release one in the near future and that it will also come in the same red-lacquered case. It would also be best if Chanel N°5 lipstick will not be a Limited Edition.

Chanel Rouge Allure shades:
N°1 (657) – Red Red
N°4 (667) – Orange Red

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet shades:
N°2 (207) – Raspberry Red
N°3 (217) – Brown Red

Chanel Rouge Allure Rouge Coco Gloss Swatches

Chanel True (782) Rouge Coco Gloss is a bright coral shade that matches Scenario Le Vernis, one of the nail polishes released in this collection. This lipgloss can be worn alone or over a lipstick color if you want to brighten up your lips, add a coral tinge or simply to add a glossy shine to your lip color.

Chanel Romance (784) Rouge Coco Gloss is a rich red shade with a shiny, gel-like finish. It has pretty good pigmentation, so you can wear it alone. You can also wear it on top of other red lipsticks to enhance your lipstick or just dot on the center of your lips to make them appear plump and healthy.

Both of these lip glosses are moisturizing and feels light on the lips. The downside is that they are both listed as Limited Edition, so if you want either or both of these moisturizing glossimers, then now is the time to get them.

Chanel So Close blush Le Vernis Fiction Celebrity Scenario

Fans of bright colors will surely love Chanel So Close blush. This new Limited Edition powder blush from Chanel is a reddish orange blush that is intensely pigmented. You will need a light hand when applying this blush if you don’t want to go overboard. Just a light application of Chanel So Close blush is enough to brighten up the complexion. With its fine-milled formula and smooth, velvety finish, it’s sure to last on your cheeks for hours.

If you want to look fresh and younger-looking even in the harsh winter months, then I suggest that you grab this one now. Don’t wait until it disappears from Chanel counters forever!

Chanel Celebrity (580) nail polish is a pure black tint with a glossy finish. You can’t get away with just a single coat of this because it is a little on the sheer side, and sheer black doesn’t look good on the nails. Apply 2 to 3 coats to achieve a more even finish and a gorgeous and intense black color on your nails.

Chanel Fiction (582) nail polish is a lush, forest green shade with a gel-like, glossy finish. Similar to Celebrity Le Vernis, Fiction is slightly sheer as well. But you can easily build up the color to full opacity in 2 to 3 coats.

Chanel Scenario (604) nail polish is a warm, bright (almost neon) coral hue with a matte finish. It will probably take you 2 coats (or just a single coat if you’re a pro at applying nail polish) to get an even color on your nails. Even though you’re not into matte nail polishes, you might want to buy this. Chanel rarely releases matte nail polishes, and this one is a lively spring color that you can wear all year round. Because of its beautiful matte finish, the bright color is kind of muted down, so you can wear it even in the cold months of winter.

Chanel Trait De Caractere Eyeshadow Palette

Lucia Pica created Trait De Caractere Eyeshadow Palette to bring out the color intensity of the Rouge Allure and Rouge Allure Velvet lip colors in the Collection Libre Numeros Rouges. This exclusive creation is a five-color eyeshadow palette of beige, brown and green shades.

The shades are pale, pinkish beige with a frost finish; light, ivory beige with a frost finish; burgundy (reddish brown) that leans more brown than red, with a matte finish; dark brownish gray with a soft matte finish; and a medium-dark emerald green with a matte finish.

Chanel Ombre Premiere Cream Eyeshadow in Silver Screen / Satine is a slightly khaki, platinum shade. In other lightings, it is a silvery gray that is almost similar to pewter utensils but with a lot of sparkles.

This Limited Edition cream eyeshadow can be worn alone, just like other Chanel Illusion D’Ombre cream eyeshadows. It can also be worn as the base eye makeup before layering on the shades from Trait de Caractere.

Chanel cream eyeshadows are used as an alternative to other base eye makeups. Creamy yet light, Silver Screen eyeshadow makes applying and layering other eye makeup over it very easy. You can then have a worry-free and no-crease, longer wear time.

Chanel Holiday 2017 Makeup Collection

Chanel Legendary Green is a dark green eyeliner with a waterproof formula. When buying eye makeup, these are usually what we go for – waterproof formulas and shades that will enhance our eye color.

This Limited Edition Stylo Jeux eyeliner will look great together with the shades in the Trait De Caractere eyeshadow palette. If you’re going for a simple and easy look, it will also go well with the Silver Screen cream eyeshadow alone.

Chanel Character (37) Le Volume de Chanel Mascara is a deep burgundy shade that will look beautiful on anyone. With just a few strokes, it adds volume and length to lashes.

Mascaras usually go bad after 3 to 6 months, so if you’re not a heavy user of mascaras then you might want to think twice before grabbing this one.

However, if you are one who uses mascara on a daily basis or even a few times a week, then this Limited Edition Le Volume de Chanel mascara should be added to your collection.

Do the switch! Wear black on your nails and burgundy on your lashes! 😉

Chanel Holiday 2017 Makeup Collection

Everything in this collection is listed as Limited Edition, except for Le Vernis 582 Fiction. Honestly, Fiction was the only nail polish out of the three that I initially wanted to get. But after writing this article, I now want to get them all! You know how it is. Once you see pictures of Chanel makeup, you just want to buy them all!

This holiday collection is supposed to become available in the US around the end of October 2017 at Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Neiman Marcus. In the UK, it will be released around the first week of November 2017 at Harrods and Selfridges. In Singapore, the launch date is October 26 for Chanel boutiques and November 3 for Chanel counters.

For all other Chanel counters and boutiques in other countries, the Chanel Holiday 2017 Makeup Collection Libre Numeros Rouges should become available November 2017.
