The other day, I’ve posted 9 Red Lipsticks for Valentine’s Day. Today, I’m sharing my 5 Best Red Nail Polishes for Valentine’s Day. Because the entire look is not complete without a matching red nail polish.
Do you need help in picking the perfect red nail polish to go with your red lipstick? Here are 5 suggestions that you might want to consider.
As I’ve mentioned in my Valentine lipstick post, I’m not one to wear a red dress for my date on Valentine’s Day. I usually wear either a black or white dress because I feel that either way, it’s both sexy and sophisticated. But to get in the spirit of Hearts Day, I want both my lips and nails to be bold and red. It just adds romance to the entire look.
5 BEST RED NAIL POLISHES FOR VALENTINE’S DAY
I don’t want to wear Fifty Shades of Grey on my nails, especially on Valentine’s Day. What I really want is red nails and lips. So here are Five Shades of Red nail polishes that are perfect for Hearts’ Day.
CHANEL PHENIX LE VERNIS
Chanel Phenix nail polish was released in the Chanel Holiday 2014 Collection Plumes Precieuses de Chanel a few months back. It is classified as a bright orange red. It is not overly orange, but there’s still enough orange in it that makes its color bright. It has a gel-like cream finish and a gorgeous high shine. Phenix is very pigmented and is already opaque in 1 coat. It has a creamy consistency and it applies easily and evenly without bubbles nor streaking. It dries super fast on my nails and lasts around 4 to 5 days before any chipping occurs.
Phenix was Pure Love for me last Holiday season, and it still is! Especially on Valentine’s Day, if I choose to wear this shade. It’s a playful color that will be loved by most of the younger population or the young-at-heart.
CHANEL PIRATE LE VERNIS
A few months back, Chanel Pirate nail polish had been repromoted as part of the Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss Collection. The reason was because Chanel released a Rouge Allure Gloss in the same shade, Pirate. So, both the Pirate Rouge Allure lipstick and the nail polish have been repromoted to match the new lipgloss. Pirate is a true red with a hint of pink. It has a very beautiful gel-like, cream finish. When I first bought it years ago, I used to top it with the Chanel mattifying top coat. I liked the matte finish back then, but now I prefer Pirate as it is. It is so pretty on the nails. Pirate applies easily and smoothly without streaking. Its prettiness lasts around 4 to 5 days on my nails.
If you would be wearing Chanel Pirate Rouge Allure or Chanel Pirate Rouge Allure Gloss, or both, then you might want to pair it with Chanel Le Vernis in Pirate as well. If I opt to go with this, I’ll wear a white or black mini dress for a romantic dinner date. For a fun date, a white blouse loosely tucked halfway in a gray or black skater skirt plus ankle high boots. With this combination, I’ll bet my husband will not let me out of his sight! Lol! Chanel Pirate Trio for the win! <3 CHANEL COROMANDEL LE VERNIS
Chanel Coromandel nail polish is a gorgeous orange red that is not too bright. It has very fine micro shimmers that can be seen in the bottle. Once applied on the nails, though, the micro shimmers are not noticeable at all. It has more of a cream finish than a shimmery one, but it has a beautiful and natural shine. All of the nail polishes in this list have a shiny finish and are opaque in 1 coat, including this one. It is an almost dark, medium warm-toned red on my nails but is not overly intense. I also love how it applies easily and evenly without bubbles and streaking. The color lasts 3 to 4 days on my nails before it chips around the edges.
Coromandel nail polish will look better when paired with its matching lipstick, Chanel Coromandel Rouge Allure. Unfortunately, I have already given away my Coromandel lipstick. But there are still a lot of red lipsticks that would go with it. Like Chanel La Flamboyante Rouge Allure Velvet or NARS Annabella.
CHANEL ROUGE RUBIS LE VERNIS
Chanel Rouge Rubis nail polish is a bright, medium red with a gel-like cream finish. In some lightings, it looks more warm-toned and in some it looks more cool-toned. It is a slightly cooler version of Chanel Rouge Flamboyant, which is the next nail color in this list. Rouge Rubis had been released as part of the Holiday 2013 Collection Nuit Infinie de Chanel. It is one of my personal favorites because it is very beautiful on my nails. It also has a shiny finish and lasts on my nails for 4 to 5 days before any color chipping occurs. It also applies evenly and easily without streaking nor bubbles. It is opaque in 1 coat, but of course I still apply at least 2 coats on my nails.
Rouge Rubis will be a great nail color to wear for a romantic dinner date. Just imagining these nails shining ever so slightly while holding a glass of sparkling wine over dinner excites my inner beauty demon!
CHANEL ROUGE FLAMBOYANT LE VERNIS
Chanel Rouge Flamboyant nail polish had been first released in 1980. It had been repromoted as part of the Les Rouges Culte de Chanel Collection a few months back. It is described as a fiery red which introduced cheerful energy into a new decade. It is a classic warm red with a cream finish. It applies easily and evenly without streaking nor any bubbles. It is opaque in 1 coat and has a natural shine. It also dries fairly fast, and lasts around 3 to 4 days on my nails before it chips around the edges.
Chanel Rouge Flamboyant exudes allure and sexiness. The perfect red nail polish for women who want to look sexy in a nonchalant way.
I haven’t done a full review on both Chanel Coromandel and Chanel Rouge Rubis, but above are photos of all the five shades of red nail polishes featured in this post including both Coromandel and Rouge Rubis. You can also see them in my color wheel comparison photo here. You could hardly tell the difference in the pictures, especially with Coromandel, Rouge Rubis and Rouge Flamboyant. Because they look almost similar to each other once worn on the nails. But in the first nail photo where the sunlight shines on the nails, it is very noticeable how shiny they all are.
What nail polish color are you currently wearing? Will you be changing it to a red one for your date on Saturday? What are your personal best red nail polishes for Valentines Day?
