The Face Shop Black Label Lipstick 116 Flower Pink is one of their bestselling shades, according to the sales person at the shop. I didn’t really believe her at the time, because I knew that it was just sales talk. But I still bought it, along with 2 other shades, because I was curious about how moisturizing these lipsticks will be for my lips.

THE FACE SHOP BLACK LABEL LIPSTICK
116 FLOWER PINK
The Face Shop Black Label Lipstick 116 Flower Pink is a medium raspberry red with an almost glossy, shimmery finish. The micro shimmers are so fine that they are almost not noticeable. It just gives the lip color a beautiful finish, without being drying on the lips. The scent is also very subtle that I barely notice it. In the arm swatch below, you will notice how Flower Pink is a bit sheer with 1 swipe. But the color is buildable, so you can get a more opaque coverage with 3 or more swipes of the lipstick.
As its color can be built-up for a more opaque coverage, Flower Pink will work even on those with pigmented lips like me without the need for a concealer or lip liner underneath. It has a very smooth and creamy texture, so application is very easy. The lipstick glides easily over the lips with no tugging or dragging. The lip color didn’t bleed nor feather on my lips.
The Face Shop Black Label lipsticks promises to provide moisture the whole day, and I can say that it really didn’t disappoint. I haven’t tried to wear Flower Pink for a full day as I don’t really wear lipsticks for more than 12 hours. But for the days that I’ve worn it, this lipstick didn’t dry out my lips. In fact, it was even a bit moisturizing on me! Even with the micro shimmers, it didn’t suck out the moisture from my lips.
It feels really smooth on my lips and does not settle into lip lines. I found that I didn’t need to exfoliate the lips before application because it doesn’t accentuate the dryness of my lips. For extremely dry lips, though, it would be advisable to still exfoliate and moisturize the lips beforehand.
The lip swatches above don’t do it justice. In reality, the finish is very shiny and almost glossy. It’s not bright, but is a beautiful pinkish red on my lips. Even though it’s creamy and smooth, The Face Shop 116 Flower Pink doesn’t slide around on my lips. It’s not long lasting, though, as it only lasts on my lips for around 3 to 4 hours before I had to reapply. I don’t mind reapplying as long as it doesn’t dry out my lips. After eating and drinking, especially with hot and greasy foods, most of the color is gone and only a bit of stain is left on the lips.

The Face Shop recommends to use a lip liner before applying Black Label lipstick. I personally don’t think that it’s necessary for me. But if you’re used to using a lip liner, then you might want to apply it beforehand, for a more precise application and added longevity.
The Black Label lipsticks comes in a silver and chrome-like, hard plastic packaging that is almost similar to the Chanel Rouge Coco lipsticks. It looks very chic and trendy. The shade number and expiration date are indicated at the bottom of the tube, but the other characters are all in Korean.
I bought my Black Label 116 Flower Pink lipstick for Php295 from The Face Shop in Robinsons Manila. It’s a really good buy because aside from being very affordable, it delivers on its promise of moisture.
