The Face Shop Black Label Lipstick 10 Fashion Red is the third shade I’m reviewing from the Black Label lipstick line. I’m not sure if it’s really called Fashion Red or Passion Red, but I can’t confirm since it had already been discontinued by The Face Shop. It’s not listed in their website anymore, but it’s still available for sale at some shops including Amazon.
For this review, I will call it Fashion Red because it’s much more fitting than Passion Red.

THE FACE SHOP BLACK LABEL LIPSTICK
10 FASHION RED
The Face Shop Black Label Lipstick Fashion Red (10) is a medium dark, cool-toned red that looks almost burgundy in the bullet. It has no shimmers but it has an almost glossy shine. There is a subtle scent that is barely noticeable once applied on the lips. Fashion Red is very pigmented. In the arm swatch below, I only lightly swatched it, and it’s already semi-opaque in 1 swipe. To get a more opaque and even coverage, I use 2 to 3 swipes of the lip color. You will notice how it has a silky and satin finish with a beautiful high shine.
Fashion Red will definitely work even on those with pigmented lips like me because the color is quite deep and bold. But it can also be worn lightly for a stained-lip effect. This can definitely be worn even without a lip concealer or lip liner underneath. However, if you want to make it last longer, you might want to use a lip liner before applying this Black Label lipstick.
Application is a dream because it has a super creamy and smooth texture. The Face Shop Fashion Red lipstick glides smoothly and easily over the lips without any tugging or dragging at all. Even though the color is a bit dark, it doesn’t feather nor bleed on my lips.
The Face Shop Black Label lipsticks promises to keep lips moisturized for a whole day. This shade doesn’t last a whole day on me, but during the time that I have it on my lips, I do feel that it’s a bit moisturizing. For a really affordable lipstick, I love how Fashion Red doesn’t dry out my lips and even hydrates it.
This Black Label lipstick feels really lightweight on the lips. It’s very smooth and creamy, and doesn’t settle into my lip lines. Exfoliating the lips is not required for this lipstick, but if you have extremely dry lips, I highly recommend that you exfoliate your lips first before applying Fashion Red. Even though it doesn’t accentuate the dry and flaky patches on the lips, it would be best to apply it on a smooth lip surface. I would also recommend that you apply a good, hydrating lip balm beforehand, for extra moisture.
Fashion Red Black Label lipstick looks a bit dark on my lip swatches above. That’s because I applied it heavily for these photos, so it looks really dark. For a finish that’s more satin matte, you can always blot it down with a clean tissue to get rid of the shine. I also love wearing it as a stain, just like Chanel Etienne Rouge Coco. Fashion Red lights up my face and gives a bit of character to it without being overbearing and loud. I also love how it makes my teeth appear whiter.
The Face Shop 10 Fashion Red doesn’t slide around on my lips even though it has a very smooth and creamy texture. Unlike the other Black Label lipsticks I have, Flower Pink and Lady Wine, this is very long lasting on me.
It lasts for 6 to 7 hours before it fades into a stain. It also stays on the lips even after some light eating and drinking. Although, with greasy foods, some of the color fades with the food, but there’s still a bit of stain left on the lips.

The Face Shop recommends to use a lip liner before applying Black Label lipstick. I personally don’t think that it’s necessary for me. But if you’re used to using a lip liner, then you might want to apply it beforehand, for a more precise application and added longevity.
The Black Label lipsticks comes in a chrome-like, gunmetal silver hard plastic packaging with a shiny finish that is almost similar to the Chanel Rouge Coco lipsticks. It looks very chic and trendy, at the same time very durable. I usually get prints all over my lipstick cases, but it’s very easy to clean this one. It also is a bit scratch-proof. The shade number and expiration date are indicated at the bottom of the tube, but the other characters are all in Korean.
I bought my Black Label 10 Fashion Red lipstick for Php295 from The Face Shop in Robinsons Manila. Out of the 3 Black Label lipsticks I’ve tried, this is my favorite and I believe that it’s well worth the price. If you’re interested in getting this lip color, you can also buy it from Amazon.com for $7.59.
