Happy ShopaHAULic Saturday! I’m so hyped to share my Reformulated Chanel Rouge Coco Makeup Haul today. After waiting for about half a month for the package to arrive, these babies have finally found their way home to me. Lol!
When I ordered these reformulated Chanel Rouge Coco lipsticks from Chanel.com, I didn’t know that they were already available at both Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus. I should’ve checked first because ordering from Chanel’s website was a grueling experience for me.
First of all, their Customer Service sucks… big time! 9 out of 10 instances, they WON’T respond to inquiries and just ignore you. Then, the 1 time that they responded to my email, I replied back to their email response. You know what they replied to my next email? This is the exact one I received:
“We thank you for your interest in CHANEL, but we cannot answer your e-mail. We invite you to send us your message by completing the “Contact us” form on our website http://www.chanel.com.”
Are you kidding me? We’ve already been exchanging emails, then you tell me to submit a new thread again? So you see how agitated I was with their customer service! Anyways, after about 6 days of waiting for my order to finally ship out from their warehouse, I got my UPS tracking number. By the way, I availed of their complimentary free ground shipping. With Nordstrom, it usually takes around 3 days for my order to arrive when I use their free shipping. But with Chanel.com, it took 7 days!
REFORMULATED CHANEL ROUGE COCO COLLECTION
ULTRA HYDRATING LIP COLOUR
The reinvented ROUGE COCO is more expressive than ever, in a new formula and vibrant colour spectrum, with shade names inspired by Coco Chanels closest friends. The bright lip colour features an exclusive complex with Jojoba and Mimosa Butters, Sunflower Wax and silicone for lasting hydration and luminous results.
If the original Chanel Rouge Coco lipsticks were “Hydrating Lip Colour”, these reformulated ones are now “Ultra Hydrating Lip Colour“. This is what actually got me intrigued with the newly-released line. Almost all of the shades I’ve tried in the previous Rouge Coco line were drying on my lips. So, I’m curious if these reformulated lipsticks will be really moisturizing for me this time.
CHANEL ROUGE COCO COLLECTION
Aside from its promise to be ultra hydrating, I was also attracted to the beautiful shades of the lipsticks. But since I want to try the formula first to see if it will really be moisturizing on my lips, I only bought 4 shades. The first shade I got is Chanel Arthur Rouge Coco (440) lipstick, which is the star of the collection. It’s one of the red shades and I can say that I am so happy I bought it because it’s really wonderful. But more on that in my detailed review.
The next shade I got is also from the red lipsticks. It was the shade that Keira Knightley wore to the Golden Globes, Chanel Etienne Rouge Coco (446) lipstick. It looks darker in person than it was on Keira’s lips. But I was already expecting that because when she wore it to the Golden Globes, her makeup artist Kate Lee only applied it as a light stain. Which I would probably use Etienne as. But, we’ll see. Sometimes, I also like dark lips. 😀
The third shade I bought is a pink shade, Chanel Roussy Rouge Coco (426) lipstick. I love this one, too! Even though it’s cool-toned, it doesn’t clash with my yellowish skintone. There are 10 pink shades in the collection, but it was Roussy that really called out to me. Olga, too, but that would have to wait. 😉
Last shade is Chanel Ina Rouge Coco (450) lipstick from the plum shades. I didn’t know what to expect with it because it was only recently that I’ve been trying plum lipsticks. But after trying it out, I think I may need to get a few more of the plum shades.
LE LIFT CREME FINE
I got a 5ml (0.17 fl.oz) Chanel Le Lift Creme Fine as a complimentary sample. Because this is my first time ordering directly from Chanel’s website, I’m not sure if they always include a black pouch bag with the samples or not.
The photo below is a screenshot of my Chanel Order summary. As you can see, my order has both Le Lift Creme Fine and Le Lift Creme as the complimentary samples. But when I finally received my order, Le Lift Creme is missing. Had they replaced it with the black Chanel pouch bag instead because there were some availability issues? I really wished they would have informed me either through email or updated my order summary in their website.
Oh well, they are just complimentary samples anyways. I can always get them from a counter near me. What’s important is that I have finally received my order, and that all were in good condition. No sweating on the lipsticks and I love all the shades I bought. I have been road testing these babies ever since I received them, so I will probably post my detailed reviews on each next week.
Each of the Chanel Rouge Coco lipsticks cost $36 from Chanel.com. They’re also available at Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus for the same price. If you want to receive your order as soon as possible, I would recommend for you to order it from either Nordstrom or Neiman Marcus rather than Chanel’s website. With Nordstrom, you even get 3 free samples with your beauty purchase. I still love the brand, Chanel, but will probably never purchase from their Chanel.com website ever again.
I will be posting my detailed reviews on each of these lipsticks soon, so keep checking my blog everyday. For now, I hope you’ll have a wonderful weekend. Have a fun ShopaHAULic Saturday!
Have you had a similar experience ordering from Chanel.com? How about with other online stores? I have learned my lesson, so my next Reformulated Chanel Rouge Coco Makeup Haul will be from Nordstrom instead.
