NARS Juliette is classified as a pink coral. It looks like a medium coral with warm undertones in the tube. When swatched on the arm, Juliette is a medium coral that leans more orange than pink, and also has a brownish tinge to it. I was surpised that it has gold sparkles because I hadn’t tested this color when I bought it. Because of this, I was disappointed as I felt that it’s not something that I would want to wear on my lips.
Since I already bought it, I might as well try it on my lips, too. I’m glad that I did so because on my lips, Juliette is a very pretty pink coral, with a satin finish. The gold sparkles are also visible on the lips, but not too much that it screams holiday. Even after blotting a few times, the sparkles are still there, and NARS Juliette still looks satin-y and not matte. This is a great everyday color that will be loved especially by those who like coral lipsticks.
One swipe is all it takes to create an opaque color because NARS Juliette is very pigmented. In the lip swatches in this post, though, I did 2 swipes to make it appear better in the pictures.
The texture of Juliette is creamy and smooth, and it has a beautiful satin finish. When applying, it glides easily on the lips and doesn’t settle on the lip lines. NARS Juliette is not drying at all, but I don’t think that it’s even a little bit moisturizing. Applying a lip balm underneath is not required as Juliette doesn’t aggravate the dryness of my lips. It does feel just a tiny bit slippery, but Juliette still applies without tugging on my lips and stays for a good 6 to 7 hours.
After a few hours, the initial satin sheen is gone and Juliette becomes a little more matte, but is still not drying. After eating and drinking, I don’t have to reapply it because Juliette holds well. However, if I lick my lips too much, I would need to reapply because the color is left only on the outline of my lips. It also leaves a little bit of stain, and the stain lasts for another hour or so.
“I have a real love affair with lipstick. It gives you more power.”

I bought my NARS Audacious Lipstick in Juliette for Php1,650 from NARS in Rustans Essences, Ermita. It is worth paying that price because Juliette is a very gorgeous everyday pink coral! 😀 You can also buy it from Nordstrom, Sephora, or Neiman Marcus for $32.

Unlike previous NARS lipsticks, the Audacious collection are housed in a matte-black metallic case and NARS is embossed in the bullet. The NARS Audacious’ new magnetic case is similar to some of the high-end lipstick cases like Burberry and Tom Ford. What I don’t like about its packaging is that it easily gets smudged with my thumbprints.
This is my fifth NARS Audacious purchase, and I’m pretty much happy with it. Have you tried any of the Audacious lipsticks? What is your favorite? How many have you already bought? Even though I know that the Audacious lipsticks are permanent, I still can’t wait to buy more! 😉
Stay fab and savvy! ✌
