Maybelline Color Show Plum Perfect

Maybelline Color Show Plum Perfect Lipstick (403) is one of the Color Show Lipsticks that had been released earlier this year. I think this line is only available in Asia because I couldn’t find it in Maybelline New York’s (US) website. Although I found a Plum Perfect shade in the Color Sensational line. I’m just not sure if it’s the same as Maybelline Color Show Plum Perfect Lipstick. The colors and texture of these Color Show lipsticks are surprisingly awesome.

Maybelline Color Show Plum Perfect Lipstick is a reddish plum with a cool undertone. In the arm swipe below, it looks almost like a berry red with a beautiful sheen. With just 1 swipe of Maybelline Color Show Plum Perfect Lipstick, the finish is a little bit sheer. You can wear it sheer and it’ll still look good on the lips. However, if you’re going for a more opaque and full-coverage lipcolor, it is recommended to apply 2 to 3 swipes of Maybelline Color Show Plum Perfect Lipstick.

Maybelline Color Show Plum Perfect Lipstick looks perfect for all skintones and undertones. Even those with pigmented lips will be able to wear Maybelline Color Show Plum Perfect Lipstick even without using a lipliner underneath. Without using a liner, I just apply a layer, blot, apply a second layer, blot and then apply a third layer. If I want to minimize the shine and also to avoid color transfers, I blot again after applying the final layer.

The texture of Maybelline Color Show Plum Perfect Lipstick is super creamy and smooth. It glides easily on the lips and there is no dragging or tugging at all. I could wear it even without a lip balm or lip liner underneath and it doesn’t smear nor feather. Maybelline Color Show Plum Perfect Lipstick is not drying on my lips but is not moisturizing either.

Maybelline recommends to apply the lipcolor by starting in the center of your upper lip. Work from the center to the outer edges of your lip, following the contours of your mouth. Then glide across the entire bottom lip.

I really love how Maybelline Color Show Plum Perfect Lipstick looks on my lips. It is an almost vampy, dark reddish plum. The longevity of Maybelline Color Show Plum Perfect Lipstick is quite impressive. I haven’t really expected it to last very long on my lips. But I was able to wear it for well over 8 hours! Even after eating and drinking, the color stays put. If I eat greasy foods, there is still a beautiful stain left on my lips.

I bought my Maybelline Color Show Plum Perfect Lipstick for Php145 from Maybelline in Robinsons Department Store, Manila. It was on sale because the regular price is Php165. Maybelline in Robinsons Manila (and probably all Maybelline counters in Manila) is on sale until December 31, 2014 so if you want to get something from Maybelline, now’s the time to check out the counter nearest you.

The package looks cool enough and is very light because it’s just plastic. But still, it’s not so bad, considering that the price is fairly cheap. Maybelline Color Show Plum Perfect Lipstick smells sort of like candy and the taste is just okay for me. I’m not sure if I’m just getting used to it, but it will probably not be acceptable to those who are more sensitive.

Do you like dark lipsticks? How about plum colors? Have you tried Maybelline Color Show Plum Perfect Lipstick or any of the Color Show lipsticks?
