Makeup Haul: MAC, Etude House

I love Saturdays! Aside from being the middle of the weekend, it’s also the day I get to share my recent Makeup Haul. It’s actually a long weekend holiday, but still my favorite day is ShopaHAULic Saturday. You already know why, right? 😀

Makeup Haul MAC Etude House

This week, my makeup haul is mostly lipsticks. Lipstick is my favorite makeup. Even when I don’t have any makeup on, I just apply a lipstick and my face instantly brightens. Using the right lipstick, that is. 😉 I have only gone to the mall twice this week so my makeup haul is just from MAC and Korean makeup brand, Etude House.

MAC LIPSTICKS

MAC Pink Nouveau Lipstick (Satin)
MAC Pink Pearl Pop Lipstick (Cremesheen)
MAC Unlimited Pro Longwear LipCreme

Makeup Haul MAC Etude House

One of MAC’s bestselling lipsticks is Pink Nouveau. I haven’t tried it yet because I didn’t like it when I swatched it before. I used to stick to nude beiges, corals and medium, warm-toned pinks. But now that I’m trying out different shades, I am willing to give it a go.

I also bought Pink Pearl Pop. Finally! Everytime I go to a MAC Store, I always swatch this shade but never buy it. I thought that I should try it out once and for all. Lol!

The third lipstick I bought is from the Pro Longwear LipCreme line. I’m pretty sure I already had Unlimited years ago, but not sure why I let it go. Is it drying? Or is the color just plain boring for me? I hope it was because of neither. I’m hoping that I only got tired of the color. 😀 Anyways, I will find out soon.

Both the regular lipsticks, Pink Nouveau and Pink Pearl Pop, costs Php1,000 each. Unlimited Pro Longwear LipCreme costs a bit more at Php1,200. I bought them all from MAC in Mall of Asia.

MAC EYE SHADOW

Soba (Satin)

Makeup Haul MAC Etude House

MAC Soba (Satin) eyeshadow is the first single eyeshadow I’ve bought from MAC after I’ve given away all my single eyeshadows years ago. I’m not planning on using it as an eyeshadow, though. I want to use it for contour instead. I’m not yet sure how it will turn out. So, watch out for my full review on it to find out how it turns out as a contour color. I might also use it on my eye lids just for the review and to see how it looks as an eyeshadow. Who knows, I might like it for that purpose too! I was suprised that it now costs Php1,000! I believe I bought them years ago for around Php800 only. Oh well, I just hope I didn’t waste money on it. 😉 I also bought it from MAC in Mall of Asia.

ETUDE HOUSE COLOR LIPS FIT

PK003 Fantasy Fit Pink

One of the readers here, Ruby May, had asked me if I had already tried Etude House Color Lips Fit. I still haven’t. I had wanted to buy it before but the shades that I want were always out of stock. So when I went to Etude House in Robinsons Manila the other day, I swatched the two available pink shades and got PK003. I’m not sure if this was what I wanted before, but it looked great when I swatched it on my arm. I wonder how it will look on my lips and cheeks. It’s not called a lip and cheek tint, but I also want to try it on my cheeks as well. It costs Php498 and I bought it from Etude House in Robinsons Manila.

ETUDE HOUSE DEAR MY WISH LIPS TALK

PK001

I currently own Etude House Dear My Wish Lips Talk in OR201 and PK002 (reviewed here). I wanted a lighter pink than PK002, so I bought PK001. I really like the formula of Dear My Wish Lipsticks. The Etude House lipsticks I’ve tried in the past (around 3 years ago) were really disappointing. So I was surprised at how fantastic these new lipsticks are. Can’t wait to try this one, too! I bought it for Php578, which is a little more than the Color Lips Fit. I also bought it from Etude House in Robinsons Manila.

ETUDE HOUSE MASCARA REMOVER

One Shot Clean

Makeup Haul MAC Etude House

This is the first time I’ve seen a makeup remover that focused on removing mascara alone. I’m currently using Laneige Lip and Eye Remover Waterproof for removing all my eye makeup. However, it’s not able to remove all my mascara in one go. Probably because it’s so gentle, lol! I have to repeat the process in order to remove my mascara thoroughly and completely. I’m excited to try Etude House Mascara Remover and I hope that it will be able to remove all my mascara in 1 step. I bought it for Php198 from Etude House in Robinsons Manila.

I also got a free sample of Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion SPF50/PA+++ in Natural Beige W13. I doubt that this is my shade but I was told that it’s the only shade available. I really want to try it, so I guess it will do. It’s funny how it’s so hard to get makeup samples in this country. So, I really love how Etude House Philippines is giving out samples and gifts based on the amount purchased.

Will be doing reviews on these products in the coming days, so keep checking! 🙂

Do you always buy makeup that you’re lemming for? When was your last makeup haul? What products did you buy?

Yah I love this blog.. Do you know any gel liner that can last long I have now a gel liner from étude house but sometimes it smudge

    • Thanks Janine! I personally don’t like gel liners because they also smudge on me. Even MAC or Bobbi Brown gel liners smudge. I believe they’re best used for smokey eye makeup.

But, if you want it clean, you’re better off using liquid eyeliners or for easier application, I recommend the pen type ones. Like the K-Palette 24hr Tattoo eyeliner which is my current fave. The Etude House Proof 10 Gelquid liners are also good although not as long lasting as K-Palette. Hope this helps! xoxo

I wanted to buy MAC products but there is no mac stores here .I’m afraid to buy online coz I might get the fake ones.

    • Why? Where are you located? I know an online shop in Manila who sells genuine makeup including MAC, and even Tom Ford, Burberry, Gucci, etc. But their prices are a bit high. Or you can also buy directly from the US. I have affiliate links in my MAC reviews if you want to check them out. 🙂

  3. me too its the first time I’ve seen a makeup remover that focused on removing mascara alone, korean makeup products are the best 😀 tell me how is it when you try it 😉

Aha! This has been posted for a month and I’ve only read it just now. ^_^

It is my first time to see a makeup remover for mascara too. I mean I’ve been using cold cream and that green makeup remover from shu uemura (sorry. Forgot what it is called) But yeah, most of the time I would have a hard time taking off my mascara (and I hardly use it too)

The only stuff I use for my lips are from etude, maybelline, some homemade honey and sugar lipscrub and petroleum jelly. Ha!

Another question… Have you tried using some of our ‘local’ cosmetic brands like ever billena(?)? Just curious

    • That was a lot of back-reading! Lol!

It’s really hard to remove mascaras, especially the waterproof ones. I have tried this remover a few times, and have had no problems with it yet. It even removes my eyeliner and eyeshadow as well. But I have yet to try it on my other mascaras before I finally post my review on it, just to be sure. 😉

I have sensitive skin and lips so I’m a little scared to use local makeup brands. This is not really paranoia, but I got scared when I bought a lipstick from MaxFactor and it stung my lips really bad. Then my lips became swollen and red. Like it was stung by a bee and not by a lipstick. Anyways, after that, I didn’t want to try the brands found in department stores except for the ones I’ve already tried like Maybelline and Revlon.
