Inglot 408 Matte Lipstick is a super matte red lipstick. It is now definitely one of my holy grail, matte red lipsticks. It isn’t perfect, but it almost is. 😉 I love lipsticks with a matte finish and I also love red lipsticks. Inglot 408 Matte has both these characteristics and I am so in love with it.
Inglot 408 Matte Lipstick
☆ The perfect opaque super matte lipstick for any occasion.
☆ Vitamin E, macadamia oil, and avocado oil moisturize and nourish the lips.
☆ Long lasting formula provides the ideal matte, smooth, even finish.
Inglot 408 Matte Lipstick is a vivid blue-red with a very matte finish. It is true to its color in the bullet and when swatched on my arm. What I don’t like about this purchase is that I forgot to check the lipstick when I paid for it. Because I was so excited with my Inglot Freedom System Palette which I bought along with it, I didn’t bother checking the lipstick for any defects. It was only after leaving the mall that I found my lipstick had suffered from sweating. I am pretty sure that it was not because of the weather because it’s not hot and humid that day. So that’s why the sales person at Inglot didn’t open the lipstick for me! I guess she was so happy that I forgot to check it. Oh well, a little sweating won’t hurt me. 😉
Because of the sweating, Inglot 408 Matte Lipstick doesn’t look matte in the bullet (in these pictures). But after taking these photos, I wiped the lipstick on a clean tissue and was able to see how matte it is. 😀 On the arm swatch below, you can see how bright and beautifully matte it is. It is only semi-opaque in 1 swipe. But I believe that’s because I applied it with a light hand. Because it has a dry texture, I couldn’t really swatch it heavily. I’m afraid I might break the lipstick. It happened to one of my Chanel Rouge Allure Velvets already. 🙁 But still, it is very opaque with 3 swipes. It has a cherry scent which surprisingly doesn’t bother me at all. But I’m still glad that the scent and taste is gone after a minute or so.
Inglot 408 Matte Lipstick, having a super matte formula, tugs on the lips a little. It doesn’t feel too dry, though, and still applies well. But, I have to really be careful when applying it. If I just glide it on without checking, some areas are missed. It doesn’t settle into lip lines but is unforgiving on dry, chapped lips. It accentuates dry patches and flakiness. I recommend exfoliating and moisturizing the lips beforehand.
I can get away with no lip balm underneath as Inglot 408 Matte Lipstick is not drying on my lips. It’s not moisturizing either, but I don’t get chapped lips after hours and hours of wearing it. It also doesn’t bleed nor feather because it sets really well. It doesn’t feel light on the lips, but is not so heavy either.
On my lips, it is a vivid, cool-toned red. I love how it makes my teeth appear whiter. I forgot to take a picture showing my teeth. I usually don’t show them because I don’t have a perfect set of teeth. But next time I review a lipstick that makes the teeth appear whiter, I will post a photo showing them. I’m not reviewing my teeth anyways, it’s the lipstick that is the subject. Lol! Which reminds me, please ignore the color on my cheeks here. I was only trying it out when I took these pictures. 🙂
One of the best things about Inglot 408 Matte Lipstick is how long lasting it is. It wears for well over 8 hours on my lips. Even with eating and drinking, it stays put! It also doesn’t dry out my lips.
I bought Inglot 408 Matte Lipstick from the Inglot store in Mall of Asia for Php895. Overall, Inglot 408 Matte Lipstick is a great lipstick. Real HG material! <3 Do you like matte lipsticks? What is your favorite? Have you tried Inglot 408 Matte Lipstick?
