I just had to get Etude House Dear My Wish Lips Talk BE101 Lipstick. It was one of the lipsticks that K-Pop artist, Krystal Jung, is wearing on the promotional ads for the lipstick line which I really like. The first shades I bought from the line were PK002 and OR201. I have already reviewed PK002 here, and figured that I had to buy more. So I bought PK001, followed by BE101 and RD302.
Today I’m reviewing the nude shade BE101. It’s described as a Chic Hollywood Beige.

Etude House Dear My Wish Lips Talk
Etude House Dear My Wish Lips Talk BE101 Lipstick is a pinkish nude beige with a warm undertone. It has a creamy and shiny finish. I don’t like how it smells and tastes at first application, but they’re gone a few minutes after applying on the lips.
In the bullet, Etude House BE101 lipstick appears to be a warm-toned, light-medium nude pink. But in the arm swatch below, it’s more of a medium warm pink than a pinkish nude. It is already opaque in just 1 swipe because it is very pigmented. It’s almost comparable to how opaque it is when I apply 3 swipes of the lipstick. I still use 3 swipes, though, because I blot in between swipes to make the color last longer. I also get an even more opaque, full-coverage color with 3 swipes.
The texture of Dear My Wish Lips Talk BE101 lipstick is buttery smooth and very creamy, making application fairly easy. It doesn’t accentuate dry and flaky patches on the lips and doesn’t settle into lip lines. It is not drying and even feels a bit moisturizing. I can get away with not having to apply a lip balm underneath it anymore.
For slightly pigmented lips like mine, a lip concealer will not be required because BE101 is fairly opaque. But if your lips are very pigmented, you might need to apply a lip liner or concealer before applying this lipstick. Especially if you will be blotting it to avoid transfers. If you’re also prone to feathering, you will really need to use a lip liner. Because it is very creamy and will bleed or feather on the lips if not properly primed. It might also slide and move around on your lips. Pretty much how MAC Chatterbox lipstick fares on my lips.
On my lips, it is a very pretty pinkish nude beige with a cream finish. It has a beautiful sheen, that I don’t have to apply a separate lipgloss if I want a natural shine to the lips. Because Etude House BE101 lipstick is creamy, it doesn’t really last that long on my lips. It only lasts for a couple of hours, around 3 to 4 hours. It also doesn’t leave a stain and after eating and drinking, no color is left on my lips. So I really have to reapply the lip color.

C – NARS Brigitte Audacious lipstick
D – Chanel Liaison Rouge Coco lipstick
Etude House Dear My Wish Lips Talk BE101 Lipstick costs Php578 and I bought mine from Etude House in Robinsons Manila. Its price is a little bit more expensive that most drugstore brand lipsticks. But considering how it delivers, it is a pretty good buy. It is also available at EtudeHouse.com for US$9.50. According to the website, they now ship worldwide! 😀
