If you don’t want to spend a lot on beauty products, then check out this list on how to use Petroleum Jelly like Vaseline for beauty purposes.
In one of my recent posts, I have mentioned that Petroleum Jelly has a lot of uses. Not just for the lashes, but also for other beauty and skincare routine as well.
EFFECTIVE BEAUTY USES OF PETROLEUM JELLY
Here is a list of some of the uses of Petroleum Jelly in beauty that works. If you still haven’t tried them, then you might want to, after reading this post.
One of the most common uses of Petroleum Jelly, which is actually my favorite, is for the lips. It may be used as a lip balm which you can apply before going to bed, leave it overnight and just remove in the morning. This gives me the softest and most supple lips as compared to other lip balm products.
It can also be used to exfoliate the lips. Just mix a little bit of Vaseline Petroleum Jelly with sugar. Then, using your fingers or a baby toothbrush, gently rub it over the lips in little circular motions. It will smooth chapped lips and give you baby soft lips instead.
If you’re having a hard time removing your long lasting lipsticks using your regular lip makeup remover, Petroleum Jelly can be used instead. Just put a little amount in a cotton tip then gently rub it all over the lips to remove all the lip color.
You can also use it to revive broken lipsticks or reformulate those lipsticks whose formula are really drying. Simply mix the lipstick and some Vaseline in a small jar to get the consistency you want, and you’ve got a new product in your collection! Don’t forget to check the expiration date of each product, though. Take note of it and write it down on the jar for reference.
My next favorite use of petroleum jelly, second to using it for the lips, is for the eyelashes. It’s one of the best products to use if you want to have longer and thicker eyelashes without the bad side effects. Just remember not to get any of the jelly in the eyes.
You can also apply a bit of Vaseline under your regular eyeshadows to have a more glossy effect. Then, when it’s time to remove your makeup, you can also use it to remove stubborn eye makeup that just won’t go off by using your regular eye makeup remover.
It can also be used as a sort of clear brow mascara. Just apply some petroleum jelly on your eye brows then brush them into place.

Do you have a problem with dry hair and split ends? I know I do! For a quick remedy, petroleum jelly can be applied to the damaged split ends to help repair it. You can also apply a little amount to your dry hair and spread it evenly for a natural shine. When done regularly, it also help lessen the bad effects of pollution and weather on the hair.
It also conditions dry scalp, thereby lessening the tendency to have dandruff. If you run out of hair spray or mousse, you can also use Vaseline instead.
Petroleum Jelly is very good at moisturizing, not just the lips but also the skin as well. In the colder months, our skin tends to get too dry. Even expensive lotions sometimes doesn’t relieve our skin of its dryness and itchiness. Use Vaseline instead, and you might be surprised at how well it works.
If you want baby soft feet and smooth hands, you can also use petroleum jelly. Just apply some Vaseline on your hands, put on cotton (not leather or plastic) gloves and leave it on while you sleep. Do the same with your feet. Apply Vaseline, put on comfortable socks, and leave it on overnight. When you wake up in the morning, you’ll have moisturized, smoother hands and soft feet.
Same with the hands and feet, you can also use Petroleum Jelly to relieve your elbows and knees of dryness and soften cracked skin. You can also use it as a sort of highlight to your legs if you like wearing short skirts and shorts. Just apply some Vaseline on parts of your legs you want to highlight and it will definitely attract attention.
It can also be used as an exfoliating body scrub. Just mix some Vaseline with a bit of sea salt or brown sugar, then apply it as you would your regular body scrub. It will give you smoother and more hydrated skin.
Contrary to what most believe, Petroleum Jelly does not clog pores. Therefore, it can be used as a moisturizer for dry, acne-prone skin. You’ll get softer skin that is more radiant and healthy.
It can also be used as a makeup remover. Just use a cotton pad or cotton ball to apply it all over the face, or where you’ve got stubborn makeup residue. It won’t only remove all your makeup, but it will also give you softer skin.
One beauty hack is to mix petroleum jelly with your unwanted or broken lipstick and use the mixture as a cream blush for the cheeks instead. If you don’t want color on your cheeks, you can apply Vaseline alone on your cheeks for that Korean-style, radiant and youthful glow.
Last, but not the least, Petroleum Jelly can also be used to heal dry cuticles. Just massage it on your cuticles a few times each week and it will moisturize, strengthen and protect them.
