Chanel Tisse Fantaisie Eyeshadow Quad 236 Les 4 Ombres is one of two new quad eyeshadows released in the Chanel Spring 2015 Makeup Collection Reverie Parisienne. It is the only one listed as a Limited Edition. The other one, Tisse Paris seems to be a permanent release. I would have wanted it to be the other way around. Because I like Tisse Fantaisie a little bit more than Tisse Paris. Or better yet, I would have preferred it if both were part of the permanent collection. 😉
When I reviewed Tisse Paris last week here, I was deciding against getting Tisse Fantaisie as well. The only reason was the price tag, though. Because when I saw and swatched it at the Chanel counter, I couldn’t help but buy it. I just ignored my wallet whose incessant crying and wailing that day could be heard across the Pacific Ocean. Lol!
Chanel Spring 2015 Makeup Collection
COLLECTION RÊVERIE PARISIENNE
Beauty blooms with a captivating colour collection inspired by the springtime gardens of Paris. Vibrant corals lend balance to wistful, satiny shades of pink, creating an enchanting spectrum of shades that range from delicate to deep.
Chanel describes the new Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Quad:
Eyeshadow redefined. The new LES 4 OMBRES features a vibrant, pigment-rich formula in palettes inspired by threads of Chanel tweed. Each easy-to-wear compact offers endless possibilities, with two medium tones to colour and contour, a deep shadow to intensify and a light shade to highlight.

236 Les 4 Ombres
Chanel Tisse Fantaisie is warm-toned while Tisse Paris is more cool-toned. They are both released in the new eyeshadow formula which should have been better pigmented. Tisse Paris was a bit less pigmented than the other eyeshadow quads in the new formula like Tisse Venitien. However, when I swatched Tisse Fantaisie, I had no qualms with the pigmentation of all 4 shades in the quad. Even the lighter shades were pigmented. I love that they are buttery soft and smooth.
Starting from the upper right and going counter-clockwise, the shades are white frost, coral satin, olive green satin and a shimmery, intense copper brown.
The lightest among the four shades in the Tisse Fantaisie eyeshadow quad is a frosty, bright white. It has silver micro shimmers which make it appear a bit cool-toned. It is buttery smooth and very easy to apply. It’s a great color to use for highlighting the brow bone. I also like using this shade for the inner corner of the eye. It also looks good on the inner lower lash line. But if you’re expecting it to be very shimmery like the Etude House Play 101 Pencil shade #3, you’ll be disappointed. It is not overly shimmery or glittery, but more frosty and satiny. However, since it’s less glittery, there are no fallouts with this one. Compared to the lightest shade in the Tisse Paris eyeshadow quad, this is less powdery when swatched on my arm. Once applied on my brow bone, it is very pretty. It’s a slightly shimmery, frosty white. It is quite pigmented and I had no problems with it showing up on my eyes.
The next shade is more warm-toned. It’s my favorite shade in Tisse Fantaisie. A very beautiful medium coral. It has very little micro shimmers and has more of a satin finish. When I swatched it on my arm, it felt really smooth. Like the frosty white shade, it is also not powdery. It’s more matte than satiny. I would have loved it more if it had a satin sheen. But, oh well. It still looks good once applied on the lids. It’s also quite pigmented and I didn’t have a hard time making it show up on my eye lids. It’s a great base color for the whole lids. I also use it for a light wash of color when I’m too lazy to apply full eye makeup. This makes for a fresh look which I just love! 🙂
The third shade is a medium olive green. It has micro shimmers and a satin finish. I feel like green eyeshadows don’t suit me. That is the reason why I still haven’t tried and reviewed Tisse Venitien which I bought last year. 🙂 But I love this one! So far, I have only tried it on my socket line, blended along the crease and along the lower lash line. But it seems like it would also be a great color on the whole lids. It is also buttery smooth and extremely easy to apply and blend. It is very pigmented and has a bit of satin sheen. There are no fallouts. Thumbs up!
The darkest shade in Chanel Tisse Fantaisie is an intense copper brown. It has gold micro shimmers that make it look coppery. It is very pigmented and the shade is so intense. You will need a light hand if you don’t want to overdo it. It is also very smooth and easy to blend. I also love that there are no fallouts with this color. It’s a great shade to use on just the upper lash line. But if you are bold enough, it can also be used on the whole lids and along the lower lash line. This would be a great color for a smokey eye makeup. It also goes well with the coral shade.
In the photo above, I used the intense copper brown shade along my upper lash line and blended it a bit upwards. Then, using the coral shade, I applied it on my whole lids. Since it was for a daytime look, I didn’t want the brown shade to look too dark. So I blended the coral shade over it and tried to remove any harsh lines. Then used the frosty white shade for my brow bone and for the inner corner of my eyes. I only used a little of the olive green shade for my socket line and blended along the crease. However, it was too light an application to be noticed. I also applied it lightly along my lower lash line. You can see how I am very careful when using green shades, lol!
Overall, Chanel Tisse Fantaisie is a great eyeshadow quad. They are smooth and there are no fallouts with all 4 colors. All the shades in this eyeshadow quad last a long time. Even on my oily lids, they last for around 8 hours without creasing nor smudging. Like Tisse Paris, it will probably last even longer, but I haven’t tested it yet beyond 8 hours. The eyeshadow quad comes with 2 eyeshadow applicator tips. They seem to be similar to the disposable Chanel applicators. I don’t use them, though. I wish Chanel would at least change these to mini eyeshadow brushes. Just wishful thinking! 😉
I hadn’t planned on getting both eyeshadow quads because they are really expensive! But I gave in, and also bought Tisse Fantaisie. I bought it for Php3,250 from Chanel in Rustans Makati. As it is a Limited Edition, you might want to run to the Chanel counter nearest you if you want to get it. Alternatively, it is also available online at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdales for $61.
Have you tried the new Chanel eyeshadow quads? How about the two from the Spring 2015 Collection? Do you like Tisse Paris better than this one, or vice versa, or both? Do you think Chanel Tisse Fantaisie Eyeshadow Quad is worth it’s expensive price tag?
