Chanel Rouge Flamboyant (38) Le Vernis is one of three nail polishes released as part of the Les Rouges Culte de Chanel Collection. These are cult classics from the 80s so if you had missed out on them, now’s the chance to grab these classics. All three nail polishes are Limited Edition, so you’d better buy them soon if you want them.
I had already purchased Rouge No 19 nail polish along with Rouge Flamboyant. I might not get Laque Rouge anymore because I don’t think that it will suit me. Well, honestly, I just don’t feel like wearing dark nail polishes these days. I want cheerful and festive shades for this holiday season.
LES ROUGES CULTE DE CHANEL COLLECTION
Three unforgettable shades of RED return. Cult classics from the 1980s, these dramatic polishes create an unmistakably modern allure.
Chanel describes Le Vernis:
Classic and trend-defining shades in an exclusive formula that strengthens and moisturizes nails as it delivers high-shine colour. Applies evenly without streaking.
All Chanel nail products are formaldehyde-free, toluene-free and DBP-free.
Chanel Rouge Flamboyant Nail Polish had been first released in 1980. It is described as a fiery red which introduced cheerful energy into a new decade. It is a cream nail polish that has no shimmers.
On my nails, Chanel Rouge Flamboyant Le Vernis is a classic warm red. Compared with Chanel Phenix Nail Polish, Rouge Flamboyant has less orange in it. It is a red nail polish that exudes allure and sexiness.
Chanel Rouge Flamboyant is fairly easy to apply. The soft brush glides smoothly over the nails. It was fairly easy to distribute the color as the texture is very creamy but with an almost thin consistency. Rouge Flamboyant applied evenly without any streaking. I also didn’t experience any bubbles.
One coat of Rouge Flamboyant Nail Polish is already opaque but, as with most nail polishes, will chip and fade fast. Therefore, it is recommended to apply at least 2 coats of Rouge Flamboyant nail polish to achieve an opaque and even color. For this post, I applied 2 coats of Rouge Flamboyant.
Chanel Rouge Flamboyant Nail Polish has a creamy finish with a little bit of shine. Since the finish is already a bit shiny, I could get away with not applying a top coat anymore. I only used Chanel Beaute des Ongles Protective Base Coat before applying Chanel Rouge Flamboyant to protect my nails and to ensure a more even result.
Since Chanel Rouge Flamboyant Nail Polish has an almost thin consistency, it dries fairly fast on my nails – around 5-7 minutes only. It doesn’t easily get chipped even without a top coat. Chanel Rouge Flamboyant lasts around 3 to 4 days on me before it chips around the edges.
Chanel Rouge Flamboyant is a real retro red, and will be a great addition to anyone’s collection. I prefer Rouge Flamboyant over Rouge No 19 nail polish because this is a true classic red.
I bought my Chanel Rouge Flamboyant Nail Polish for Php1,250 at Chanel in Rustans Makati. As it’s a Limited Edition, you might want to buy or order it soon if you’re planning on getting it. Chanel Rouge Flamboyant is still also available, as of posting, at Chanel.com for $27.
