Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss in 13 Affriolant (Colour and Shine Lipgloss in One Click) is one of the new glosses released as part of the Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss Collection. The new Chanel Rouge Allure glosses are more pigmented and less sticky than the Extrait de Gloss line, which is rumored to be discontinued soon and being replaced by the new Rouge Allure Gloss Collection.
The Rouge Allure Glosses also seem to be more hydrating or moisturizing, even compared to the regular Chanel Glossimers. Although, this might be because the shimmers in these new Rouge Allure glosses are not as drying compared to most EdG and Glossimers. Based on my experience, lip products containing shimmers are more likely to be drying on my lips. I still love shimmery makeup, but I much prefer my lipstick or lipgloss to be moisturizing. Surprisingly, these glosses are not drying on me. 🙂
ROUGE ALLURE GLOSS COLLECTION
Colour and Shine Lipgloss in One Click
The colour intensity of a lipstick. The lacquered shine of a lipgloss. In one seductive click, ROUGE ALLURE GLOSS delivers dramatic, long-wearing coverage with hydrating comfort. Add to the allure with complementary shades of ROUGE ALLURE Luminous Intense Lip Colour and LE VERNIS Nail Colour.
Chanel describes it:
An exceptional gloss to wear like a lipstick. The first gloss that combines lacquered shine with the bold style of an intense colour. A click and a black case that are now part of the ROUGE ALLURE legend. A gloss for women who love lipstick. A lipstick for women who love gloss.
• A high concentration of finely ground pigments for exceptional radiance, intensity and purity.
• The combination of a film-forming polymer and glass microbeads creates a mirror effect and optimises shine with a lacquered effect.
• Two polymers join forces to maintain shine and hold for hours on end.
• A unique blend of active ingredients composed of sappan wood, matcha green tea butter and a Vitamin E derivative known for its ability to moisturise and protect the lips.
Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss 13 Affriolant is classified as a coral pink. It has purple micro shimmers that are not really evident in the arm swatch nor when applied on the lips. In the arm swatch, it’s not too bright and is just a medium coral pink that is really opaque. Affriolant is definitely more pigmented than Chanel Extase Rouge Allure Gloss (reviewed here).
The texture is very creamy and glossy, and it applies evenly and smoothly. It does settle a bit into lip lines, so applying a lip liner or lipstick underneath is recommended. Exfoliating the lips would be necessary if just a little amount will be applied.
Even though the finish is that of a lipgloss, it is not sticky. Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss Affriolant feels very light on the lips, like wearing just a liquid lipstick, but the finish is really shiny and glossy.
Chanel Affriolant lipgloss is very moisturizing on my lips even though it has micro shimmers. Since it’s still a lipgloss, it only lasts about 3-4 hours on me, and leaves no stain at all. After eating and drinking, reapplication is definitely a must.
Chanel recommends to pair it with a tone-matching line of Le Crayon Levres for a lacquered result or with a matching Rouge Allure or Rouge Allure Velvet for an intense lacquered result (vinyl effect) as it adds colour intensity and extends hold. For this post, I used Chanel Affriolant lipgloss alone to capture its true color. It is an almost neutral, coral pink that will look good whether lightly applied over a matching lipstick like Chanel Rouge Allure Craquante lipstick (reviewed here) or simply on its own.

I love the one click packaging as much as I love the case of Extrait de Gloss, they are both classy and elegant, but the new Rouge Allure Gloss is a little bit lighter so it’s a plus for me – I hate carrying heavy stuff in my bag. 😉 It also has the same doe-foot applicator which dispenses the right amount of gloss enough for one application.
Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss in Affriolant is a great everyday lipgloss. I love how it can be worn sheer if I want glossy lips with a bit of color by applying just a little amount (use the gloss on one side of the doe-foot applicator only). If I want a full coverage, opaque finish then I can just apply the product from both sides of the applicator.
