Chanel Insaisissable 152 Rouge Allure is the last lipstick from the Chanel Spring 2015 Collection Reverie Parisienne that I’m reviewing. I saved it for last because I thought that it was going to be my favorite from the collection. I always want to save the best for last. 🙂 But after trying La Romanesque Rouge Allure Velvet, I found that it wasn’t the case. This is only the second best lipstick in this collection for me. La Romanesque is still the best. 😀
Chanel Spring 2015 Makeup Collection
COLLECTION RÊVERIE PARISIENNE
Beauty blooms with a captivating colour collection inspired by the springtime gardens of Paris. Vibrant corals lend balance to wistful, satiny shades of pink, creating an enchanting spectrum of shades that range from delicate to deep.
Chanel describes Rouge Allure:
The next generation of ROUGE ALLURE dresses lips with unmistakable attitude. A new formula with concentrated, ultra-thin pigments offers radically intense, long-wearing colour with full coverage and a satin finish. Leaves lips supple and protected with lasting comfort.
CHANEL ROUGE ALLURE VELVET 152 INSAISISSABLE
Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in Insaisissable is classified as a vivid coral. It is a bright, warm-toned medium orange coral. It has no shimmers, but has a beautiful shine. When swatched on my arm, it looks more like an orange red. Its lovely sheen is almost comparable to that of Chanel Desinvolte Rouge Coco Shine. Applying 2 swipes will give a semi-opaque coverage. I found that I need to apply about 5 swipes to get a more opaque coverage. It has a strong scent in the bullet, but once applied on the lips, I don’t really smell nor taste it.
In the bullet, Insaisissable looks very shiny which also translates to a beautiful soft sheen on the lips. It also applies like a dream because it is smooth and creamy. The lipstick easily glides on the lips without tugging. However, it would be best to exfoliate the lips first because it is unforgiving on dry, flaky lips. The one time I used it on my chapped lips, it accentuated every little bit of dry and flaky patches. It also settles a bit into lip lines, but it doesn’t bleed nor feather. Since it has a creamy formula, it does transfer. What I do is blot after application to minimize it from transferring.
Chanel Insaisissable Rouge Allure melts into my lips and feels really light. When I wear it full-on opaque, it is very bright on my lips, and even though it’s warm-toned, it doesn’t make my teeth appear yellowish. When it is applied fully on my lips like in the photos above, it looks as bright as it does in the arm swatch. Which is very beautiful, especially during Summer. But I have tried to wear it sheerly, and it’s also very pretty. Not too bright and over-the-top orangey, but still very pretty on the lips.
After eating and drinking, reapplication is needed. Although Insaisissable leaves a stain, I feel that it’s a bit patchy and uneven. Because it’s not a matte lipstick, it only lasts for about 4 to 5 hours on my lips. It’s not drying on me, but is not moisturizing either.
Overall, Insaisissable is a very gorgeous lipstick. If you like bright orange or coral lip colors, then you might want to consider it. I feel like I would be reaching for this one more in the Summer when I want to wear more bright colors.
I bought Chanel Rouge Allure in Insaisissable from Chanel in Rustans Makati for Php1, 650. Although it is not a Limited Edition, if you want to get this shade, you still might want to visit your local Chanel counter soon before they run out of stock. Alternatively, you may also purchase it online from Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and Saks for $36.
