Chanel Atmosphere Nail Polish (629 Le Vernis) is one of the 3 nail polishes released in the Chanel Fall 2014 Collection Etats Poetiques. I didn’t really buy much from the Fall collection because most of the items didn’t appeal to me. The only thing that caught my eye was Chanel Atmosphere nail polish. I bought it several weeks back, but only got the chance to review it today.
Chanel describes Le Vernis:
Classic and trend-defining shades in an exclusive formula that strengthens and moisturizes nails as it delivers high-shine colour. Applies evenly without streaking.
All Chanel nail products are formaldehyde-free, toluene-free and DBP-free.
CHANEL ATMOSPHERE NAIL POLISH
629 Le Vernis Nail Colour
Chanel Atmosphere Nail Polish is a duo chrome iridescent pearl with gold and purple micro shimmers. It is as pretty as the other duochrome nail polishes of Chanel like Peridot, Azure and Bel-Argus. I love duochrome nail polishes because they seem to change color in different angles and lighting.
Chanel Atmosphere Nail Polish looks more like a shimmery, yellow gold pearl in some lightings, and more like a shimmery pink pearl in some. At certain angles, it looks like a shimmery golden pink pearl. The finish of Chanel Atmosphere Nail Polish is almost sheer, so 1 to 2 coats is not enough for me. I need to apply at least 3 coats to get a more even and slightly opaque color. Even with 3 coats, though, the nail line is still quite visible.
I believe that Chanel Atmosphere Nail Polish will look better when applied on top of other nail colors. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m imagining that it’ll definitely look great on top of Chanel Pink Tonic Nail Polish. I’m excited to try it with other nail colors as well.
On my nails, Chanel Atmosphere Nail Polish is true to its color. Or, should I say colors? 🙂 I had difficulty trying to photograph it’s beauty, but it’s really very gorgeous even on its own. Chanel Atmosphere Nail Polish has a thin consistency but it still applies like a dream. The brush glides smoothly over my nails without streaking. I experienced a few bubbles, but with the shimmery, metallic-like finish, the bubbles are not really noticeable. 😀
It takes around 5 to 10 minutes for Chanel Atmosphere Nail Polish to completely dry. One coating will probably be enough if used as a top color. But when used alone, like in the photos here, I apply 3 coats on my nails to have a more opaque, even and smoother result. Chanel Atmosphere Nail Polish lasts around 4 to 5 days on me before it chips around the edges.
I bought Chanel Atmosphere Nail Polish for Php1,250 at Chanel in Rustans Makati and from what I see in Chanel’s website, it is not a Limited Edition. I surely hope that it really is Permanent because I definitely will be repurchasing it. As of posting, it’s available at Nordstrom for $27.
Do you also have Chanel Atmosphere? How do you like it? Do you use it as a top color? What other nail colors do you use to top with Chanel Atmosphere Nail Polish?
